Cottesmore Golf and Country Club hosted the County Veterans' Championship on Wednesday 28th August 2024

After the recent inclement weather of late, it was a pleasure to welcome a beautiful sunny day for this Vets competition (players over 60 with a handicap index below 18) which consisted of a 27 hole Stableford format with both GROSS and NETT prizes. There were 10 clubs represented by the 22 players competing.

Our very own Karyn Millar took the lead in both NETT and GROSS competitions after the morning 18 hole round with 39 Stableford points playing off a 10 handicap.  She had a magnificent 12 pars in the round 6 on the front and 6 on the back.

Four other players on came in with 37 Stableford point so it was all to play for after lunch in the afternoon. 

Not a problem for our Champion who scored 18 points in the afternoon 9 hole non qualifying competition with a beautiful birdie on the 7th.

It was an absolute pleasure to witness and Karyn was a worthy winner of both the GROSS and the NETT trophies.  Congratulations and very well done Karyn.
