Annodata Matchplay Trophy
This year the Seniors entered two teams in the national Annodata matchplay competition which is a competition of 5 individual matches. The 4 semi final teams that get through regional and national matches play the semi finals and final in a major event in Spain.
Team 1 was headed by Andy Puttock along with Wayne Short, David Robinson, John Jordan and Paul Richman and team 2 by Andy Teversham along with Ian Massbery, Freddy Lane, Mike Lowery and Ron Walker.
Team 1 had a home draw against Cottesmore and had a very close match with David and Paul winning, John halving and Wayne and Andy losing their matches meaning that a sudden death playoff was required and as last player out Andy had the honour but unfortunately was beaten on the first hole leaving Cottesmore as the winners.
Team 2 had an away draw against High Elms, a team who had got through the regional finals last year but the team had a great outing with Freddy, Mike and Ron winning, Ian losing and Andy halving. A great away result and the team now move into the next round and play Sundridge Park at home on the 19th May.
